UKM calculates CGPA using: CGPA = Total Quality Points ÷ Total Credit Hours. Each grade converts to a grade point (A/A+ = 4.00, A- = 3.67, B+ = 3.33, B = 3.00, etc.), multiplied by credit hours. UKM uses the standard 4.0 grading scale aligned with the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF).

What CGPA do I need for First Class Honours at UKM?

UKM requires a CGPA of 3.67 or above for First Class Honours (Kepujian Kelas Pertama). Second Class Upper requires 3.00–3.66, Second Class Lower 2.50–2.99, and Third Class 2.00–2.49. UKM, known as Malaysia's National University (Universiti Kebangsaan), has particular strength in Malay studies, law, medicine, and engineering.

What is the minimum CGPA to avoid academic probation at UKM?

UKM students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.00 to avoid academic probation. Students who fall below this threshold may be placed on academic probation and face suspension if they are unable to improve their CGPA within the stipulated time.
